The Hamburg tapes were recorded by Adrian Barber at the behest of Ted "Kingsize" Taylor - a singer from Liverpool whose own group (The Dominos) was one of the acts taped. The record sleeve incorrectly listed Ringo as "sitting in for" Pete Best. A shout by John mentioning Christmas seems to pinpoint the recordings in December, 1962 - a date well past the September 11, 1962 "Love Me Do" recording session in which Ringo definitely participated as a band member. There are numerous errors on the sleeve and labels (see The Beatles Historic Sessions for some of these errors - although you may wish to compare the album listing with the song pages).
